Scoring

How titles are ranked

Titles are ranked by the number of unique signed-in viewers during the contest period. The title with the most viewers wins.

What counts

  • People, not clicks: one account watching the same title counts as 1 viewer, however many episodes it watches and however many times.
  • Signed-in members only: signed-in views on both the website and the app count.
  • At least 10 seconds per episode: the episode must be first and last watched during the contest period, with at least 10 seconds of progress.

What does not count

  • Views by guests who are not signed in.
  • A creator watching their own title with their own account.
  • Views by Guava Shorts admin accounts.
  • Titles owned by Guava Shorts, titles uploaded by admin accounts and titles that are not AI-made are not ranked.
  • Episodes watched before Nov 1, 2026, and episodes removed from watch history.

Ties

  1. 1If viewer numbers are equal, the title with more valid episode views during the contest period ranks higher.
  2. 2If both numbers are equal, the titles share the rank.
  3. 3If 2 or more titles share first place, their creators split the prize equally. For example, with a 2-way tie each receives NT$15,000.

When the contest ends at 00:00 on Jan 1, 2027 (Taiwan time), the final ranking and viewer numbers are locked automatically. Later views cannot change the results.

Prize

Prize payment and tax

How the prize is paid

Payment method
The same way as creator revenue payouts: a USD wire transfer to the payout account you set up in the creator studio, converted at the bank rate on the payout date.
Wire fees
Fees charged by the sending, intermediary and receiving banks are paid by the winner and deducted from the amount sent.
Payment timing
Paid in the next monthly payout after your claim details and payout account are complete and confirmed.

Tax withholding

  • Individual resident in Taiwan (ROC)10%

    On a NT$30,000 prize: NT$3,000 withheld, NT$27,000 sent

  • Individual not resident in Taiwan (ROC)20%

    On a NT$30,000 prize: NT$6,000 withheld, NT$24,000 sent

For residents, no tax is withheld when the tax due on one payment is NT$2,000 or less. For example, each NT$15,000 share in a 2-way tie is paid in full. The payment is reported to the tax authority either way. Bank fees are paid by the winner.

Announcement and claiming

  • The winning title is announced on Guava Shorts on Jan 1, 2027, and the winning creator is notified directly.
  • Within 30 days of the notice, the winner must provide the details needed to claim the prize and report tax, and set up a payout account in the creator studio.
  • Eligibility and viewing data are checked before the announcement. If more time is needed, a later date will be announced.

Guava Shorts "AI Short Drama Creator Awards" Official Rules

Version 6, 2026/11/03 (Taipei time). The Chinese version governs if the two versions differ.

1. Organizer

Guava Shorts (the "Platform"), operated by Great Castle Ltd (Tax ID 97607741).

2. Contest period

From 00:00 on November 1, 2026 to 23:59 on December 31, 2026, Taiwan time (the "Contest Period").

The time recorded by the Platform's servers is final.

3. Who can take part

A title is ranked only if it meets all of the following:

  1. It was uploaded through the creator studio by a registered creator on the Platform. Titles owned by the Platform and titles uploaded by admin accounts do not take part.
  2. It must be an AI-made title: its main visuals or video were produced with generative AI tools. Titles that use AI only for voice, music, subtitles or the script, while the visuals and video were not produced with AI tools, cannot take part.
  3. In the copyright documents in the creator studio, the creator declares that the title uses AI tools and uploads AI generation records that show which AI tools were used.
  4. It has passed the Platform's submission review and is published.
  5. Its copyright documents have passed the Platform's review. Copyright documents must pass review by 23:59 on December 31, 2026. Please allow time for review and submit early.
  6. Points 3, 4 and 5 above must be completed before the contest ends (2026/12/31 23:59). Viewers counted during the Contest Period are kept, but a title that is still not eligible when the contest ends cannot win.
  7. The creator's account has not broken the Platform's terms of service and is not suspended.

The Platform may ask the creator for proof of how the title was made, such as project files, prompts or generation records in the AI tool account. The creator must provide it within 14 days of the Platform's notice. If it is not provided in time, or it does not show that the main visuals or video were produced with AI tools, the Platform may treat the title as not eligible.

No sign-up is needed. Eligible titles are ranked automatically.

4. How titles are ranked

Titles are ranked by the number of unique signed-in viewers each title has during the Contest Period. The title with the most viewers wins.

  • People, not clicks: one account watching the same title during the Contest Period counts as 1 viewer, however many episodes it watches and however many times.
  • Signed-in members only: views by guests who are not signed in do not count. Views on the website and in the app both count.
  • At least 10 seconds within the Contest Period: a view of one episode by one account counts only if all 3 of the following are true:
    1. The account first started watching the episode during the Contest Period.
    2. The account last watched the episode during the Contest Period.
    3. The account's progress in the episode is at least 10 seconds.

This means that an episode watched before 2026/11/1 does not count, even if it is watched again during the Contest Period. The system only records how far each episode has been watched, so it cannot tell whether those 10 seconds were watched before or during the contest. Other episodes of the same title still count if they are first watched during the Contest Period.

  • Episodes removed from watch history do not count: when a viewer removes an episode from their watch history, its progress is reset to zero and the 10 seconds can no longer be confirmed, so that episode does not count. If it is watched again during the Contest Period and meets the conditions above, it counts again.
  • Views that do not count:
    • A creator watching their own title with their own account.
    • Views by the Platform's admin accounts.
  • Ties:
    1. If titles have the same number of viewers, the title with more valid episode views during the Contest Period (accounts × episodes) ranks higher.
    2. If both numbers are the same, the titles share the rank.
    3. If 2 or more titles share first place, their creators split the prize equally. For example, if 2 titles tie, each receives NT$15,000. Any amount below NT$1 left after the split is dropped.
  • Results lock automatically: when the contest ends at 00:00 on January 1, 2027, Taiwan time, the system calculates and locks the final ranking and viewer numbers. After that, no view, including rewatching episodes seen during the Contest Period, can change or reduce the locked results.

5. Prize

The creator of the title with the most viewers receives a prize of NT$30,000 (1 winner). If 2 or more titles tie for first place, the prize is split as described in section 4.

The winning title must meet the conditions in section 3. If the title with the most viewers is not eligible, the prize goes to the highest-ranked eligible title.

6. Announcing the winner

The winning title will be announced on the Platform on January 1, 2027, and the winning creator will be notified separately. Before announcing, the Platform checks the title's eligibility and looks for unusual viewing data. If more time is needed, the Platform may postpone the announcement and will say so on the Platform.

7. Claiming and paying the prize

  • How it is paid: the same way as creator revenue payouts, by USD wire transfer to the payout account the winning creator has set up under "Payout account" in the creator studio. The prize is set at NT$30,000 and converted to US$ at the bank's rate on the payout date.
  • Wire fees: fees charged by the sending, intermediary and receiving banks are paid by the winning creator and are deducted from the amount sent.
  • Withholding: income tax is withheld under section 8 before the rest is sent.
  • When it is paid: in the next monthly payout after the winning creator's claim details and payout account are complete and confirmed by the Platform.
  • Claim details: within 30 days after the Platform's notice, the winning creator must provide the details needed to claim the prize and report tax, such as their legal name, national ID or residence permit number and registered address, and must set up a payout account in the creator studio. If these are not provided in time, or are false, the creator is treated as giving up the prize.
  • The prize is paid by transfer only. It cannot be transferred to anyone else or exchanged for another prize.

8. Tax

Under Republic of China (Taiwan) tax law, this prize counts as "prizes from competitions, contests and games of chance" and is part of the winner's income. The Platform withholds and reports tax as required by law:

  • Individuals resident in the Republic of China: the Platform withholds 10% of the full prize (for example, NT$3,000 on a NT$30,000 prize, so NT$27,000 is sent, with bank fees paid by the winner). Under the regulations, no tax is withheld when the tax due on one payment is NT$2,000 or less (for example, with a 2-way tie, each NT$15,000 share would have NT$1,500 withheld, so nothing is withheld and the full amount is paid). Whether or not tax is withheld, the Platform reports the payment to the tax authority and issues a withholding or non-withholding statement. The winner must include the prize in their income tax return for the year.
  • Individuals not resident in the Republic of China (for example, foreigners who stay in Taiwan less than 183 days in a year): the Platform withholds 20% of the full prize.
  • Winners that are companies or other businesses are handled under the same regulations.

Legal basis:

If the tax law changes, the rules in force when the prize is paid apply.

9. Disqualification

In any of the following cases, the Platform may disqualify the title and creator from taking part or winning, recover any prize already paid, and act on the account under the terms of service:

  1. Creating views with bots, scripts, programs or any other automated means.

This includes skipping ahead or dragging the progress bar so an episode appears to be watched for 10 seconds when it was not really watched.

  2. Buying views, paying others to watch, trading views, or inflating views with large numbers of accounts, fake accounts or accounts registered in other people's names.
  3. Affecting the ranking by any other improper means, such as exploiting a system flaw.
  4. The title infringes copyright, portrait rights or other rights, or its copyright documents are false.
  5. The title breaks the law or the Platform's content rules and is taken down or suspended.
  6. Providing false claim details.
  7. The title is not AI-made, or the use of AI tools was declared falsely.

The Platform checks viewing data using system records and manual review. If the data is clearly unusual, the Platform may leave out the unusual views before ranking, or hold the prize while it investigates.

10. Other terms

  1. By taking part, the creator agrees to these rules and the Platform's terms of service.
  2. Rankings are based on the Platform's system records. Rankings shown during the Contest Period are for reference only. The announced results are final.
  3. If views are missed or recorded wrongly because of system failure, network problems or other causes beyond the Platform's control, the Platform will try to correct them but is not liable for compensation.
  4. The Platform may change, pause or end this contest and will announce it on the Platform.
  5. The Platform has the final say on how these rules are interpreted. Anything not covered here is handled under the Platform's announcements, its terms of service and the applicable laws of the Republic of China.
